Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that tulips in Bowral’s Corbett Gardens are late to bloom following unfavourable weather conditions.

With the 2017 Tulip Time Festival set to kick off from Tuesday 12 September Council is offering free entry to all visitors until the tulips put on their annual spectacular display of colour.

Council’s Manager Tourism and Events, Steve Rosa explained that it’s likely to be a few days before the majority of tulips come into bloom.

“We’ve seen a delay in flowering due to an unusually dry and cool winter,” said Mr Rosa. “And while the tulips are slow to bloom, the annuals and other plantings as part of this year’s ‘Under the Sea’ theme are in full bloom”.

Tulips are expected to be blooming in time for the weekend.

This year’s Tulip Time celebrations will run for 13 days from Tuesday 12 September until Sunday 24 September 2017.
