Playgrounds

Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting residents of the Southern Highlands to have their say on our Shire’s playgrounds.

Council’s Parks and Properties Asset Officer, Kylie Stefaniuk, explained that Council playgrounds are an essential piece of community infrastructure.

“Playgrounds are essential for children’s physical and social development and have the ability to enhance community wellbeing,” she said.

“We want to hear how residents currently use our Shire’s playgrounds as well as their thoughts on how they could be improved to better meet their family’s needs.”

Feedback will assist in the preparation of a Playground Strategy aimed at improving the quality, access, safety and distribution of playgrounds within the Wingecarribee Shire.

“We want to ensure that play spaces cater to the needs of children in our community,” said Ms Stefaniuk.

The survey closes Sunday 18 February 2018.

“We encourage as many people as possible to complete the survey because the more responses we receive the more accurate and comprehensive our strategy will be,” added Ms Stefaniuk.
