Wingecarribee Shire Council will this week host a group of children at Council to celebrate Wingecarribee Children’s Services.

The tour will be met by Wingecarribee Shire Council General Manager Jason Gordon who will inspect their artwork currently on display in Council’s Civic Centre foyer.

Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Coordinator of Children’s Services Melissa Lefterys said the visit highlighted the services provided by Council.

“For the past 25 years we’ve supplied the parents of the Southern Highlands with quality Children’s Care Services,” she said.

“This includes our Family Day Care and Wingecarribee Out of School Hours Service, our Mittagong After School Care and Wingecarribee Vacation Care Services,” she said.

The children’s artwork on display in Council’s foyer includes examples of mosaics, textiles, sculptures and photography.

“Children’s experiences and creative expression in early childhood can pave the way for life long learning, communicating and participating in society.

“And the children’s art on display showcases the variety of stimulating activities that are available to the children in our care,” Melissa said.

Following the tour the children will be treated to a picnic and games in the park.

“The children are really looking forward in sharing their talents and seeing their works of art hanging up at Council in this beautiful exhibition,” Melissa added.

The tour will be met by the General Manager at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre at 11.45am on Thursday 17 November.
