Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting all interested members of the public to attend an Open Day at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter on Sunday 8 March 2015 to learn more about the different management models currently being considered by Council.

Council officers and a representative from Sydney Dogs and Cats Home will present an outline of the three management options, and will be available to answer any questions on the day.

The three short-listed models include:

  • Internal management(Council continues to operate the Animal Shelter),
  • Mixture of Internal management and External operations through a partnership, and
  • External management(Animal Shelter run by an external service provider).

Details about the consultation including statistics, a survey, fact sheets and questions and answers can be found online at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au.

The Open Day will be held on Sunday, 8 March from 12.30pm until 2.30pm at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter located on Berrima Road, Moss Vale. The presentation will be held in the Southern Regional Livestock Exchange (SRLE) building at 1pm.

Access to the shelter will be via the SRLE car park off Berrima Road, Moss Vale.

Due to the public interest in the matter, Council has extended the consultation period to 20 March 2015 to ensure all parties have ample time to consider and comment on the options proposed.

Following the close of the consultation period, all responses will be collated and included in a final report, including a recommendation, which will be prepared for consideration by Council.
