Organisers of the Southern Highlands biggest annual tourist event, Tulip Time, will be offering half price entry to Bowral’s Corbett Gardens following three days of strong winds.

“Unfortunately the winds have played havoc with the displays in Corbett Gardens and some of the flower beds haven’t recovered from the damage,” said Steve Rosa, Council’s Acting Group Manager of Tourism, Economic Development and Events.

“We’ve subsequently decided to cut admission by half price for the remainder of the festival.”

As of Thursday 3 October, admission to Corbett Gardens will be as follows:

Adults $5.00pp
Concession/Seniors $3.00pp
Children 13-17yrs $3.00pp
Children under 12yrs FREE
Groups of 20 or more $2.50pp

Entry to locals who provide identification will remain free of charge.

“Council apologises for the inconvenience,” said Mr Rosa. “But we think the discounted price is now particularly good value to still experience the remaining flowers, colour and attraction of what has been on the whole, a fantastic year,” Mr Rosa said.

“We also remind visitors that other events will continue across the Shire as scheduled for the duration of the festival.

The 2013 Tulip Time celebrations close on Monday 7 October.

“We’d particularly like to thank all the Shire’s residents who brought along guests and friends and helped celebrate our 53rd Tulip Time festivities.”
